tip
Tipping your mailman for Christmas... yea or nay? USPS regualtions say it can't exceed $20 value and can't be cash.

Given how risky it is to leave even your regular mail in your mailbox, where would you leave said gift?
Community mailboxes are the norm here. We never even see who delivers our mail
(133 days ago)
I'm sure he'd appreciate. We don't have mailmen who deliver to homes anymore around here, just these ugly ass neighborhood cluster mailboxes.
Do you mean that more than one person shares the same mailbox with others? You Canadians are so trusting.
No. Think apartment style boxes but in a group in a location outdoors. People walk to get the mail out of their box in the cluster

Door to door mail is long gone
Oh, we have that here, too, but only for apartments. Houses have their own mailboxes.
I have long forgotten what the walking distance is to get mail but it is just delivered into the group boxes. Each person has their own key to their box

There was just a report on the news tonight that mail carriers are being robbed of their master keys for the group boxes. rolleyes

Security isn't really a big concern around me. Each house in my neighborhood has their own mailbox at their door. Maybe I'll stick a $20 Dunkin Donut gift card in the box for him.

JG. God BLESS America! FFs

I'm not proud to say I'm American anymore. sad
(133 days ago)
Good idea. They've changed the name to just Dunkin here. rolleyes
(133 days ago)
It's officially "Dunkin" here too, but if they're not committed enough to change all their signs, I'm not committed to changing what I call them.

I couldn't agree more. We have so few here and they are all relatively new, so it's a non-issue.
