First of all. My yard is surrounded by a damn forest, yet they choose the one tree in the middle of my backyard to build their nest & make my dawgs crazy.

I think if your bird feeders have metallic front they won't be able to get to it. I've got loads of squirrels here and never do they get to my bird feeder.

I replaced the wooden front (where food can be eaten from) of the feeder with stainless steel because of squirrels. Neighbour's tip. They can't climb on sleek surfaces.

We've a bird feeder called the Squirrel Buster. Only thing that ever worked. I've had it for years. this is a genius company, they will replace parts for free when they break.

The Squirrel Buster Plus is the one.[Link] Expensive, but it works. When the squirell gets on the ring its weight acivates a mechanism that shuts the feeding holes.

Squirrels are a delicacy here in the high appalachia. Cook them until tender. Make a brown gravy and serve over buttermilk biscuits. That's livin'. But use a .22. You can break a tooth on shot.
