Watching the tributes on TV I am amazed what a super talent but normal small town nice guy he was.

Incredible talent that pushed the limits of music and sexuality...a massive loss. R.I.P.

Nice tribute EC. Good on you for posting this.

Of all the losses in music this year, this one has really hit me. As many, many others have said, we have lost a musical genius. Prince has given the world an unbelievably good body of music, a style legacy and, above all else, showed us how an artist can do it on their own terms.

Vale Prince. Nothing compares 2 u

Makes me feel old having him pass. Damn he was fun to watch!

bOObz, they showed the only interview he ever did with Larry King and his humility really shone through. Those qualities stayed with him and the fact that he chose to eschew all the usual trappings of fame by choosing to live in Minnesota where he grew up speaks volumes.

Agreed, Soul. There is an article on musicradar.com titled 7 Times That Prince Blew Our Minds. Can't copy and paste the link here but google it. Some amazing vids to watch. As for his sexuality, ooooh....he was sex on a stick. And a stylish one at that.

M.....agreed. Hard to imagine anyone living who hasn't been touched by his music. [And on that note, I wonder how many kids were conceived to it? ;]. His legacy will live on and I cannot wait to see what will be done with all those unreleased/unrecorded songs. in The Vault. At the hands of Jimmy Jam, Stevie and the possibility of so many others, we have some real treats in store.

Totally, Sammy. Coincidently I have Party Like It's 1999 on my iphone playlist. Listened to that a few times yesterday and while bittersweet, it made me smile. God, he could entertain. And smolder.

" I wonder how many kids were conceived to it?" :)

Ha - too true EC. ;)

The best headline I've seen on Prince's death is from The Onion:
"Nation Too Sad To Fuck Even Though It’s What Prince Would Have Wanted"

Perfect!
